📘 Hope Punk - a comic hunt through Berlin
Curation & Art work
Page 15/15, digital art print in A2 format. Zine printed in 2-color risography. Conception and direction of the Writer’s Workshop, exhibition coordination, one of the artists.
The work was part of the art adventure “Hope Punk” curated by me, which took place in 13 partner locations in Berlin. The project was birthed by the desire to connect and share art in a safe and experimental way during the second pandemic summer.
I led a Writer’s Workshop of 15 artists, who in three hours wrote the entire script of the comic, designing the characters, the script and the main topic using various exercises I developed for the purpose. Thelast page of the work was drawn by me The pages were then distributed as a “treasure hunt” window exhibition, and displayed in the 13 partner locations around the city. Each comic had a QR code with a geolocation to the next page, revealed one at a time.
The comic was published in a limited edition risograph zine, that was freely given to those who completed the whole treasure hunt.
The themes of the comic that resulted are related to the gentrification of the city, housing crisis, and the climate change.
